HEY! I'M JENNIFER...
I’ve called Ottawa home for the past 30 years. I grew up as a military brat, moving from Canada’s East Coast to the West Coast and pretty much everywhere in between.
These days I’m a single mom with three amazing kids, 15, 20 and 22. We have a great life here in the city. I love being surrounded by family, a vibrant neighborhood and all the energy that comes with our area.
When I’m not watching the Blue Jays, you’ll usually find me relaxing with a puzzle, colouring, or diving into a good true crime show. After more than 25 years as a nurse, I reached a point where I knew I was ready for something new.
I’ve always loved helping people and now through my online business in Personal Development, I get to do that in a whole new and deeply fulfilling way.
Working on myself every day keeps me focused, grounded and moving forward.
THE PROBLEM THAT LED ME HERE: I’ve spent my whole career in nursing - most of it as a labour and delivery nurse, so I’ve seen people at both their happiest and their hardest moments. I’ve always been a people person and being part of those life-changing experiences was something I truly loved.
But working in hospitals has become tougher than ever and after dealing with PTSD and then a heart attack, I had to take a step back and really reassess. I knew going back to nursing wasn’t the right choice for my health, but I still wanted to help people in a meaningful way.
I didn’t want to just give up - I wanted to turn the hard stuff into something positive and prove to myself that I could start fresh, so I took a leap and began building a new career in Personal Development.
TRYING TO FIND MY NEXT STEP: I stepped away from nursing knowing I needed to find something that let me work from home and take care of my health. However, figuring out ‘what’ that was, took some trial and error.
I dabbled a bit in writing and even got paid for a few pieces, then took on some consulting work with a lawyer as a legal nurse consultant. Both were interesting, but neither was going to replace a full-time income.
More importantly, they didn’t light that spark in me - the one that comes from really helping people. I wanted something that gave me balance, allowed me to be present for my family and something that would reignite that sense of purpose I’d always felt in nursing.
THE SHIFT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING: Before I even found this business, I’d already gone through a massive mindset shift. I had a choice - I could have just given up, gone on disability and accepted that my career was over.
But that’s not me. I decided instead that I was going to take control, keep moving forward and prove to myself that I could create something new.
I’ve always believed that working on yourself, daily brings you closer to your goals. It keeps you focused, grounded and stops you from getting caught up in the wrong things.
The more I leaned into that, the clearer everything became. I didn’t just stumble on to this path - I ‘chose’ it. And that choice has opened the door to helping others see that they can do the same.

THE BUSINESS THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING:
The business I discovered back then is the one I’m still passionate about today. It’s amazing to think I’ll never have to work for a boss again or pull 12-hour shifts over the holidays.
I finally get to work smarter, not harder, while still connecting with incredible people from all over the world. The community of entrepreneurs I work with is supportive, talented and feels a lot like the family I loved in nursing - but even better.
I can travel, set my own schedule, enjoy weekends and holidays off and honestly, I couldn’t be happier with where I am right now.
